Paul de Haas
Paul established Achilles Foot Health Centre in 1993/94. His connections to Northwich go back to the mid 1980s.
Prior to this, he held roles as Clinician / manager in the NHS in the South East running a Podiatry Service within a Borough boundary. In South Wales, he helped establish a Podiatric Surgery unit and worked in a Hospital High Risk Foot Clinic; and in the early part of his career he provided a service to a regional Dermatology In-Patient Unit.
So, he has a wide experience and deep understanding of a broad range of case / patient types in community and hospital settings - Diabetes, Rheumatology, Neuropathy, Peripheral vascular disease, dermatology, ulcer care, nail surgery, combined with all the usual foot health issues with skin, nails, corns, soft tissue injuries etc..
He has experience of Medico-legal case work since the mid 1990's.
He was a member of his professional body's (SOCAP) Regional committee that organised conferences and dealt with professional matters in Wales.
In Cheshire, he was a part of the steering group that helped to set up the Carers Centre in Northwich. He is trained as a Deaf Blind Communicator Guide.
Since qualifying he has attended many conferences and study days and reads textbooks and journals online and in hand to keep his practice upto date. he builds his skillls and knowledge into systems / protocols with the aim to integrate and deliver services for the best outcome for the practice's patients.
Outside of his working life, Paul has many interests: involved in Learning Disability charity work from 1990 - Chairing for some years. He enjoys walking and has walked long distance coastal footpaths in Somerset, Devon and Cornwall and the River Wye.
